Alongside her work as a performer, choreographer and teacher, Asha Thomas participates in conversations around artistic practice and the experiences that shape artists and their work. Drawing on several decades of experience working across the United States and France, she brings a perspective shaped by a long and varied engagement with the dance field and by movement between different cultural and artistic contexts.
Asha is interested in questions of memory and transmission within Black diasporic experience, conversations around practicing art at different stages of life, and examining the systems that artists rely on to build and sustain their careers.
